What we do
Did you know that 9 out of 10 new ventures fail? And the biggest reason they fail is because they don’t focus on a customer need? That’s why we’re obsessed with customer problems. They’re our North Star!
We use design thinking methodologies to deeply understand our customers’ needs and run experiments that quickly test our hypothesis and assumptions.
We aim to test fast and learn even faster, so we can create new digital health and wellbeing solutions that customers care about.
Across Medibank, ahm and Amplar, we’re focused on solving some of our customers biggest health problems, including Mental Health, Obesity and Pain Management.

We are the newly formed Ventures group at Medibank.
We build, buy, and invest in amazing health products and services to grow Medibank’s impact to 10 million Australians by 2030.
Our teams are obsessed with improving the health of Australia, by reimagining what healthcare is and how it’s delivered.
We get all the benefits of working with the core Medibank business, stability, scale, and strength but with the spirit and speed of a start-up.
Entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, developers, venture architects, product gurus, health professionals and investors. Individually we are a mix of backgrounds and know-hows; but we are fiercely united by our passion for health and together – we are head, heart, and a whole lot of guts.
We’ve created a fun hybrid working environment that fosters learning, creativity, and collaboration. Importantly, everyone has a voice and an opportunity to be heard and grow.
With big ambitions to grow and help accelerate Medibank’s transformation to healthcare company, we’re always on the lookout for super talented team players that have a learning mindset and a desire to make a big health impact.

Product Owner
Leads the discovery, development and execution of new products and services in the health and wellbeing sector, driving growth outside of our core health insurance business.
Product Engineer
A hands-on fullstack development role, delivering end-to-end digital prototypes and providing technology perspective and ideation as part of the wider Ventures team.
Researcher
Champions design thinking to influence, build and drive the design direction. Hypothesize and ideate new innovative experiences across value streams.

Each New Ventures team usually consists of experts from UX Researchers to Product Owners, Product Designers, Analysts and Engineers. And we work with lots of healthcare experts from across the business to supplement our thinking.

Innovation Analysts
Leading rapid experimentation streams of work to develop and execute small test and learn experiments. This is an exciting role to help identify, create and grow products predominantly within the health and wellbeing sector.
Product Owner
Lead the discovery, development and execution of new products and services in the health and wellbeing sector, driving growth outside of our core health insurance business.
Product Engineer
The role is primarily a hands-on full stack development role, delivering end to end digital prototypes and providing technology perspective and ideation as part of the wider new ventures team.
Researcher
Championing design thinking to build and drive the design direction. You’ll play a key role in influencing the delivery of our products and experiences. Hypothesize and ideate new innovative experiences across value streams.
